Quale educazione per Marte? è il tentativo di sperimentare un modello alternativo di trasmissione della conoscenza e di relazione nelle scuole e nelle università nel mondo.

Così come Bruno Latour nel suo libro “Vita di laboratorio” (1979) analizza le scoperte scientifiche attraverso lo studio delle relazioni tra scienziati e le loro famiglie, Quale educazione per Marte? fa ricerca nel sistema educativo contemporaneo attraverso le relazioni tra studenti e tra studenti e insegnanti.

Nel 2011 in collaborazione con Esterno22 e Nomas Foundation, Valerio Rocco Orlando ha condotto a Roma una serie di laboratori nelle scuole secondarie superiori.

Il risultato di questo progetto è una video installazione composta da ritratti, interviste e conversazioni tra studenti che immaginano come costruire una scuola migliore.

Questo lavoro è stato inserito nella 11 edizione della Biennale de l’Avana (11 maggio/11 giugno 2012) e una seconda produzione sarà sviluppata con gli studenti cubani.

WHAT EDUCATION FOR MARS? AT THE 11th HAVANA BIENNIAL

WHAT EDUCATION FOR MARS? is the attempt to experiment in schools and universities around the world with an alternative model of knowledge transmission.

Just as Bruno Latour in his book “Laboratory Life” (1979) analyzes scientific discoveries through the study of the relationships between scientists and their families, WHAT EDUCATION FOR MARS? researches the contemporary educational system through the relationships between students and students and teachers.

In 2011, in collaboration with Esterno22 and Nomas Foundation, Valerio Rocco Orlando conducted a series of workshops in high school classes in Rome, Italy.

The result of this project was a video installation composed of portraits, interviews and conversations among students imagining how to build a better school.

This work is included in the 11th Havana Biennial of 2012 (May 11 to June 11) and a second production is being developed with Cuban students in in the same year.
